Pet animal, i.e. dog and cat, which will be imported to Indonesia, must enter through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta

Pets may enter as passenger's checked baggage in the cabin or as cargo.

May only be imported into the rabies-free areas within Indonesia if arriving from the following countries and provided the requirements mentioned below are met: Australia, Bermuda, Brunei, Chinese Taipei, Cyprus, Denmark, Fiji, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland (Rep. of), Japan, Malta, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Turks & Caicos Isl., United Kingdom.

The animal must be accompanied with an identity card/book (Animal Passport) and Animal Health Certificate issued by an authorized Government Veterinarian in the country of origin.

The animal should neither be in pregnant condition nor in breast-fed condition.

It must be vaccinated against rabies with inactive rabies vaccine only.

The vaccination should be performed at least 30 days prior to exportation and not more than 1 year. It should have been at least 90 days of age at time of exportation.

The animal should have been subjected to quarantine measure before exportation in the country of origin. It shall, upon arrival, be subject to quarantine inspection and submitted to the quarantine officer for quarantine measures for at least 14 days period and the longest for 6 months.

The animal must be accompanied with recommendation to import issued by Provincial Livestock Service of Destination, together with an import permit. Application to be made to

Prohibited are birds (from Belgium, Netherlands and Germany) and parrots and parakeets.

Pets arriving from countries other than mentioned above, are strictly prohibited in the districts of Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Irian Jaya, Madura, Maluku, Timor Timur, West Kalimantan, and the small islands surrounding the main island of Sumatra.

Failure to comply will result in the immediate destruction of the animal concerned.
